Karen Elrod Thomas has earned music degrees from Abilene Christian University (Bachelor of Music Education) and the University of North Texas (Master of Music in Flute Performance) and will complete a Master of Educational Administration at Lamar University in December 2011.

A public school music teacher for 30+ years, Mrs. Thomas has most recently directed the choral music programs for Rockwall High School. A professional musician, Mrs. Thomas also performs with the Carrollton Wind Symphony and serves as an adjudicator for UIL Instrumental and Vocal Music programs around the state.
